About the spot

Simos and neighbouring Sarakiniko form a double bay on the south side of Elafonisos. The two sides respond differently to wind and swell; clear water and sand alone say little about session suitability. Conditions can include chop, surf or offshore wind sections.

This is a busy swimming destination in summer. Use only a locally confirmed kite section with enough clear launching and landing room. Confirm lessons and current school operation beforehand, and protect dunes and beach vegetation. Elafonisos is distinct from similarly named Elafonisi on Crete.
