Makinia is west of Antirrio on the northern shore of the Gulf of Patras. A regional operator describes a reef-sheltered section used for teaching in suitable westerly wind. Calmer water does not remove the constraints imposed by the reef and changing depth.

The marker identifies the approximate beach area. Establish the actual kite launch and safe passage with a school that knows the venue. Avoid bathing sections, shallow reef and shore obstacles; beginners need organised supervision.
