About the spot

The long beach south of Gythio offers thermally influenced afternoon conditions in summer. Coarse sand, rapidly deepening water and chop or small waves characterise the venue. Some winds bring surf to negotiate, so it primarily suits confident freeriders.

Swimmers and marked sea-turtle nests restrict usable beach space. Keep equipment out of protected areas and away from nest markers. A local windsurf or SUP rental does not establish that kite lessons are currently offered; confirm any supervision you need in advance.
