About the spot

Glyfada is on Naxos' southwestern coast, where northerly wind often reaches the beach cross-shore. The local school distinguishes smoother practice water, a choppier middle section and small waves farther along, providing several conditions within one bay.

Beginners learn separately from independent riders. Shallow water near the edge does not mean continuous standing depth. Use the assigned teaching or freeride section and give swimmers ample clearance. Cross beach vegetation and dunes only on existing access routes.
