About the spot

Pounda is on Paros' west coast facing Antiparos. The channel strengthens the Meltemi, which usually reaches the kite beach cross-shore. Sandy bottom, a shallower shoreline strip and deeper choppier water beyond support freeriding and supervised tuition.

Several centres share the beach, with busy summer sessions. Follow teaching zones and launch corridors and avoid nearby ferry traffic. Do not confuse this with the similarly named party beach on the east coast. Crossing to Antiparos requires separate planning and is not a routine beginner circuit.
