About the spot

The sand spit at Raches on the Maliac Gulf creates smoother and choppier water on different sides. Summer thermals attract learners and freestyle riders. Raches Watersports describes shallower teaching areas, radio instruction and boat support.

The usable side depends on wind and water level, and shallow water is not uniformly deep. Lessons, independent riders and other beach users need separate space. Confirm the launch sector and actual rescue coverage before riding. This Drepano at Raches is not Cape Drepano near Patras.
