About the spot

Kalavarda is southwest of Fanes on Rhodes' windward coast. Side to slightly onshore summer winds support freeriding and instruction. A shorter shallow shoreline strip gives way to deeper choppy water, with more pronounced waves in strong wind.

Local kite centres operate from a defined beach section. Ask about briefing, launch assistance and teaching zones before rigging. A quieter atmosphere does not establish a hazard-free beginner venue: the shoreline, surf and clear return route must suit your experience.
