About the spot

The long bay of Schinias northeast of Athens hosts many watersports. Kite operators use it according to season and wind, including suitable southerly conditions. The bay is partly sheltered from northerly Meltemi, so a strong Aegean forecast does not guarantee a good beach session.

Swimmers, watersports schools and protected pine forest and wetlands require careful launch selection. Confirm the actual kite sector with a local school. Windsurf or wingfoil lessons on a beach do not automatically mean kites may launch there too.
