Stomio

About the spot

Stomio is south of the Pinios river mouth on Thessaly's open coast. The sandy bay curves along the shore, so the same wind can arrive cross-shore or more onshore at different sections. Chop and waves depend on wind and swell.

The river mouth to the north adds currents and changing sandbanks. Independent riders need a suitable beach section, a clear return and plenty of clearance from the mouth. This listing does not confirm a permanently staffed kite school or rescue station; learners require arranged supervision.
