About the spot

Viganj lies on the windy channel between Pelješac and Korčula. Summer maestral from the west to northwest produces chop and small waves, with windsurfers, ferries and other boats sharing the channel. This is not an extensive standing-depth venue.

Narrow pebble beaches severely limit kite-line space, so local schools also teach from boats. Independent riders need controlled launches and a reliable return to the agreed section. Northeasterly bora can be gusty and unfavourably offshore; the spot’s summer maestral reputation does not make those conditions suitable.
