Colico – Pratone / Ontano

About the spot

Colico, at the northern end of Lake Como, has established kite activity around Pratone and Ontano. Southerly Breva often arrives during the afternoon. Shallower water near shore helps entry, while deeper water and chop await farther out.

Several watersports share the grassy rigging area; available space does not itself authorise an unassisted launch. Beginners can learn with a school from shore or by boat. In stronger wind, independent riders need reliable upwind skills and clear separation from other users.

Check the current kite zone and launch procedure with a local school; keep swimming and teaching areas clear.
