About the spot

Dervio lies on the eastern shore of upper Lake Como. Afternoon southerly Breva is the usual basis for freeriding. The Porto Vecchio area supports organised kite activity, but the whole promenade is not an unrestricted launch lawn.

Schools use boats for lessons and lifts, reducing pressure on the limited shoreline. Deep water is unsuitable for independent standing-depth practice. Riders need dependable waterstarts and return skills; harbour traffic, other watersports and increasing chop constrain the available space.
