About the spot
Funtanamare is the northern section of the large Gonnesa bay. Northwesterly Mistral and westerlies produce waves; despite the sandy beach, rocks lie near shore and farther out. Currents and surf suit experienced wave riders but make the spot unsuitable for beginners.
Assess entry and return before launching. The regional operator describes summer riding as tolerated, which does not establish general permission through swimming areas. Current rules and clear launching space are essential. Other sections of the long bay have different conditions.
Access & local notes
Experienced riders only; assess rocks, currents, current beach permission and a safe exit.
