About the spot

Ponte Caffaro sits at the northern end of Lake Idro. Thermal southerly wind reaches the shore onshore, supporting an established kite centre. Shallower sections occur near the river mouth, with depth and usable space depending on water level.

Launching is organised from the club area with assistance. Beginners can take lessons, while independent riders need reliable upwind skills to leave the onshore beach. Insufficient depth particularly affects foils. Weather-driven gusts and thunderstorms can change conditions quickly.
