Mondello – Palermo

About the spot

Mondello is Palermo's sandy urban bay between Monte Pellegrino and Monte Gallo. Northeasterly Grecale brings strong winter wind and waves; easterly Levante can produce calmer conditions. Shallow inshore water alone does not make the bay an unrestricted learning area.

Summer swimmers and beach installations leave inadequate launching space. Any local lesson or excursion therefore requires a specifically permitted access arrangement. Local coordination remains necessary outside the bathing season. Strong winter surf is for experienced riders.
