About the spot

Castel Porziano's Cancelli are a historic kite area southeast of Ostia. The long sandy beach faces open sea with weather-dependent surf. Regional schools still name it as a possible teaching location but move according to wind and access.

Older permissions and later closure reports prevent a general summer recommendation. Confirm a currently operating, authorised kite zone before travelling. The pin near the third access gate does not authorise launching. Where access is available, modest conditions suit instruction; powerful surf is for experienced riders.
