About the spot

San Vito lo Capo is a wave alternative at Sicily's northwestern tip. The regional spot guide identifies northeasterly Grecale as cross-onshore. Despite the pale sandy beach, strong-weather sessions require confident wave-riding skills.

The bay is also a heavily used bathing destination. Its recreational kite festival and excursion listings do not establish a free summer launch area. Season, local permission and clear launching space must all be confirmed. Beginners should choose an explicitly arranged teaching location in a more suitable area.
