About the spot

Sottomarina has an established kite area beside the Diga. Northerly to northeasterly Bora and southerly to southeasterly Sirocco arrive cross-onshore. Bora produces waves, with smoother water behind the breakwater. Frontal Sirocco can also build substantial surf.

Summer access uses the free-beach corridor between lifeguard towers 1 and 2. Bodydrag the first 100 metres; only one kite transits at a time and returning riders have priority. Reliable upwind skills are required. Keep clear of the breakwater, currents and swimmers.
