About the spot

Torvaianica south of Rome has organised kite centres on an open sandy coast. Despite the Kitesurfing Ostia name, the relevant school base is in Torvaianica. Lessons, equipment and supported sessions are offered by the sea.

This is not sheltered flatwater: wind creates chop and surf that can complicate launching and returning. Beginners should choose modest conditions with a school. Independent riders need reliable waterstarts, upwind riding and a clear return route. Swimming zones and the current sports corridor determine the entry.

Confirm the precise base and open corridor with the centre; avoid crossing swimming areas.
