About the spot

Scialmarino, also known as Spiaggia Lunga, is the large kite bay north of Vieste. Schools and campsite centres use different sections. Northwesterly Mistral and southeasterly Sirocco are typical useful winds, producing sheltered sections, chop or waves according to strength.

The broad beach helps organisation but becomes busy in summer. Launch through the designated corridors of the relevant station. Cala Azzurra moves its peak-summer kite lessons to the separate La Chianca teaching bay. Independent riders must leave space for lessons, swimmers and windsurfers.
