About the spot

The southern inner part of Lagoa de Óbidos is an established teaching area with flat water to chop. The map point approximately marks the access near Rua da Nau. It is separate from the seasonally restricted entrance around Foz do Arelho and Bom Sucesso.

Northerly to northwesterly winds are typical teaching conditions. Water level and sandbanks determine the usable area; depth is not uniform across the lagoon. Beginners benefit from local supervision, while independent riders need clearance from lessons, navigation channels and shellfish areas.
