About the spot

Bergen aan Zee is an open North Sea beach with waves over shifting banks. Stronger winds make the surf and coastal currents demanding. Independent riders must manage deep water and a controlled return to shore.

Kiting uses orange-marked activity areas on either side of the main beach access. The space between them and other bathing sections is not an unrestricted launch. Local operators such as HangLoose can explain the layout. Beginners should use suitable instruction rather than rely on beach width for safety.
