Castricum aan Zee

About the spot

Castricum offers North Sea waves and tidal troughs between sandbanks. Very low water can become too shallow in places, while high tide may bring strong shorebreak. Rip currents remain relevant for independent riders.

Watersports areas lie north and south of the main access. A partly buried wreck south of Club Zand can expose sharp hazards. Check its markers and current position rather than riding over it. Maintain the local separation from surfers and swimmers during launching and riding.

Access & local notes

Year-round zones roughly 200 m right or 300 m left of the access; avoid the wreck south of Club Zand.
