About the spot

Delfzijl's beach faces the tidal Ems estuary. Adequate riding depth is mainly available around high tide and the adjoining hours. A small sandy beach limits space for preparation, launching and landing.

The coastline and harbour structures affect airflow depending on wind direction. Plan the return around tidal movement and falling depth. This is not an unrestricted open-water area: establish local kite boundaries and separation from harbour traffic before riding. Learners need suitable supervision and sufficient clear space.
