About the spot
The northern side of Grevelingendam faces Grevelingen lake, with shallower areas and relatively smooth water in suitable easterly airflow. It differs from the tidal Oosterschelde venue across the dam.
Stones and sharp shells require footwear, while trees and limited shore space affect launching. Adjacent protected habitat restricts the riding zone. Adequate depth and room can support freeriding and supervised learning, but the area closes to kiters outside its defined season regardless of otherwise attractive conditions.
