About the spot

IJmuiden's central zone opens for kiting from October through March. A broad sandy beach and a long shallow approach provide room to enter, followed by deeper water and North Sea waves.

Surf, currents and shifting banks still demand open-water skills. Riders who cannot return independently need instruction or supervision. During the summer, use the separate year-round zones 1 or 3. An empty bathing beach does not make this central section available outside its permitted season.

Access & local notes

October–March only; closed April–September. Launch and land inside the designated zone.
