About the spot

Julianadorp is an exposed North Sea beach with waves and coastal currents. Sandbanks alter the surf as water levels change, and deeper water follows the shoreline shallows. Riders need independence and a reliable return through breaking waves.

Partly buried groynes are a particular concern. Some become visible at low tide but disappear completely as water rises, and not every obstacle is marked. Inspect the chosen section and landing options before riding rather than simply choosing the largest empty stretch of sand.
