About the spot

Bataviastrand provides a broad watersports beach followed by Markermeer water that deepens rapidly. Strong winds create chop and short waves, sometimes breaking close to shore. It is better suited to competent freeriders than unsupervised beginners.

Room for rigging does not remove the need for a deep-water return plan. Swimmers use a separate area. During the bathing season, launching, riding and landing must all keep that section clear, even if it appears quieter than the kite beach.
