About the spot

Lemmer is a winter kite venue at the southern end of Friesland's IJsselmeer coast. The sandy entry leads quickly into deeper water, and a long wind fetch produces substantial chop. It is not a uniformly shallow training area.

The beach provides rigging and launching space when clear of other users. Independent riders should hold their ground upwind and manage a deep-water return. Seasonal access separates kiting from the beach's summer use, even when conditions outside the season look inviting.
