About the spot

Sandbanks at Medemblik create shallower practice areas beside water that becomes deep quite quickly. Northerly and easterly winds suit the location; stronger winds build noticeable IJsselmeer chop.

Schools and independent riders share limited space, making separation from trees and other lines important during launching. The banks do not make the whole riding area standing depth. Heading along the coast towards Andijk does not extend the legal kite zone, and beginners should remain under suitable supervision.
