About the spot

Mirns offers an extensive area of knee- to waist-deep water and is an established IJsselmeer teaching venue. Winds from west through south to east provide several usable options, although stronger conditions produce short waves.

The beach launch is much smaller than the riding area and often crowded. Slippery grass is not a launch surface. Yellow buoys define the permitted area, with Mokkebank's protected habitat excluded to the west. Beginners need supervised space among lessons and independent riders.
