About the spot

The beach north of Roompotsluis opens onto deep North Sea water. The pier modifies currents and waves, and lower tide can be smoother than high water. This remains an open-sea venue for riders able to return independently.

Southerly airflow can become gusty around the dike and turbines. Walk from the parking area to the beach. The designated summer kite section runs between accesses 83 Roompotsluis and 84 De Slufter; adjacent beach sections have additional bathing-season restrictions.
