About the spot
Terschelling's North Sea side provides broad sandy beaches, changing banks and exposed wave conditions. Northwest through northeast winds can offer usable airflow, but deeper water and coastal currents require independent riding.
In summer, keep clear of bathing sections extending 200 metres to either side of beach accesses and 100 metres out to sea. Winter access is broader without removing conservation limits or safe spacing. The Wadden-side Groene Strand is a different venue with its own tide and wind constraints.
