About the spot

Zandvoort is a deep-water North Sea venue with surf, changing sandbanks and rip currents. Confident freeriders and wave riders can use it, while beginners need appropriate supervision. A large beach does not imply unrestricted launching.

From 15 April to 1 October, use one of six signed watersports corridors, including those at The Spot and WSVZ. Keep the swimming zone outside those corridors clear. Fast watersports use the designated offshore area starting 150 metres from the coast.

For first rides and basic skills in suitable conditions. Beginners need qualified instruction and the designated teaching area.

Independent riding, staying upwind, launching, landing and self-rescue are required, with control in chop, waves or changing conditions.
Skill level: Expert
Extensive experience with difficult launches, surf, currents or obstacles is required. Little room for riding or judgement errors.
Skill level: Pro
An exceptionally demanding specialist spot for pro-level riders. Extreme spot hazards require precise control, local knowledge and agreed safety support.
