About the spot
Nova Vaga on Costa da Caparica is a documented kite and teaching beach facing the Atlantic. Summer northerly to northwesterly winds are typical. It remains a wave spot: swell and tide determine whether entry is manageable or complicated by strong shorebreak.
Local schools offer lessons when conditions suit. This does not make an unsupervised session generally suitable for beginners. Independent riders need reliable upwind ability and surf control. The map point marks Nova Vaga beach itself rather than the neighbouring section farther north.
Access & local notes
Check the current kite zone and teaching activity before rigging. Keep swimming areas clear and plan the exit for a rising tide; use supervised alternatives when shorebreak is strong.
