About the spot

Praia da Vieira is an exposed Atlantic beach with waves and traditional beach fishing. Summer winds from north to northwest may strengthen in the afternoon. It suits independent riders with surf experience, rather than being a generally calm beginner venue.

The area near the Lis river mouth needs extra attention to currents. Elsewhere, entry and return still depend on swell and tide. Fishing operations, nets and swimmers can reduce the usable section. An empty patch of sand alone does not establish a suitable launch.

Access & local notes

Avoid the river mouth, fishing areas and swimming zones. Identify a clear exit and a locally permitted launch before rigging; never ride over nets or hauling lines.
