About the spot

Praia Grande near Sintra is the Atlantic beach at Rodízio, not a beach with the same name in the Algarve. This exposed wave area is only a possible option for experienced kiters able to assess surf, wind angle and a clear exit. A consistently sheltered teaching venue is not documented here.

The seasonal restriction in Sintra-Cascais Natural Park is decisive: this beach is not available for kitesurfing during the bathing season. Outside that period, surfing and swimming use, rocky or cliff sections and actual launching space still need consideration.
