About the spot

Vila Praia de Âncora is a wave spot between the fishing harbour and the mouth of the Âncora. The harbour breakwater shapes the northern section, while rocks need attention farther south. The sandy beach is also popular with swimmers.

Advanced riders can kite in suitable conditions. Surf and currents still matter when the beach looks straightforward from shore. The river mouth is not a designated beginner flat-water basin. Skip the session if there is insufficient clear space to launch and recover the kite.
